SPEAKER: Denise Campbell, Performance Specialist, Emerging Market Service Team

Overview

You never get a second chance to make a first impression … and first impressions count. Did you know that new employees who went through a structured onboarding program were 58% more likely to be with the organization after three years.

Strategic Onboarding is not “orientation.” Orientation has tactical objectives such as filling out compliance paperwork and understanding the internal processes related to employment. Onboarding has strategic objectives that relate to overall employee engagement, retention, and productivity.

As an HR manager, do you want to make a difference in your organization’s bottom line with an easy human capital strategy? If so, come find out more. Attend this upcoming presentation and learn:

The valuable impact of a strategic onboarding program on employees, teams, and organizations

An easy, step-by-step approach to developing or reinvigorating your organization’s onboarding program

Ideas from case studies, examples, and stories that may fit your organization’s unique culture and needs

Clever techniques to launch a new employee’s positive onboarding experience during an interview

Business-integrated HR organizations—those focused on a blend of compliance, talent management AND strategic initiatives—have nearly 40 percent lower turnover and more than twice the revenue per employee, as compared with solely compliance-driven HR organizations, regardless of company size. In addition, companies with business-integrated HR have 38 percent higher employee engagement, higher promotion rates, and superior capabilities in capturing, analyzing and applying workforce data to guide business decisions.

This presentation will examine the key components of a business integrated HR approach, and the unprecedented workforce trends mandating HR’s compelling need to prepare now for the coming transformation of the business landscape.

Investments in Strategic HR – Forward-thinking HR leaders are using an increasing percentage of their budgets to fund strategic initiatives, such as wellness programs, employee engagement initiatives and workforce analytics.

Although the HR profession is often criticized as being overly administrative, there is good reason to focus on HR fundamentals (compensation, benefits services, payroll administration, and employee relations). Anyone who has ever counted on receiving a paycheck understands why. Once these processes are in place, HR functions can focus on talent management and strategic initiatives.

Nearly one in 10 HR dollars is allocated to “strategic” HR initiatives—the fastest growing part of the HR budget—which include employee engagement, workforce planning and measurement, and wellness programs.

Crafting a Healthcare Strategy – many companies are struggling with one of the key drivers for the relentless escalation of healthcare costs—employee’s poor health habits. Yet, 56% of employers do not have a strategic plan for their healthcare benefits spend. We’ll review alternative healthcare strategies.

Reshaping Employee Engagement to Employee Enablement

Leveraging Workforce Analytics for ROT (Return on Talent) – advancing technology and lower computing costs have greatly eased the collection and crunching of people-related data, enabling companies to get their arms around what’s going on with their human capital in a much more analytic, metrics-driven way than was possible a few years ago. Driven by economic forces, human-capital management is emerging as a core competency for employers, to enable informed, cost-effective business decision-making.

The Biggest Workplace Shift in 100 Years – the arrival of “Generation C” in the workforce–Connected, Communicating, Content-centric, Computerized, Community oriented, Clicking away—combined with Boomers working into their 70’s & 80’s, will create 5 generations working side-by-side (and virtually) in the workplace. We’ll examine the implications of this unprecedented phenomenon for HR.

The Rise of Woman CEO’s – a push for more women in leadership roles, in companies ranging from startups to Fortune 500. In emerging markets women leaders drive higher health investments, and better business results. Only 3% of F-500 CEOs are women.
